ITS Edulab session at TRAIL Congress

During the 10th TRAIL Congress, ITS Edulab organised its own session on its activities. After the welcome Henk Taale presented ITS Edulab, its organisation and what have been done so far. Then some ITS Edulab students talked about their project and their experiences with ITS Edulab. Finally, Serge Hoogendoorn lifted the veil about the future of ITS Edulab. Start master thesis project of Suerd Polderdijk on the evaluation of network wide traffic management.

Moving of ITS Edulab

Because of the better possibilities of contacts with employees of Rijkswaterstaat, ITS Edulab moved to the office of the Centre for Transport and Navigation located at the Schoemakerstraat in Delft.

Defense Yufei Yuan

Coordinated ramp metering was the topic of Yufei Yuan. With simulation he investigated the effects of coordinated ramp metering and parameter settings for the coordinated strategy. He defended his master thesis, entitled “Coordination of Ramp Metering Control in Motorway Networks“, on July 23rd, 2008.

Defense Marc Stanescu

Marc has worked on “Adaptive Ramp Metering“. He defended his master thesis on the use of capacity estimation methods in ramp metering control algorithms on May 7th, 2008.

Defense Koen Adams

On April 11th, 2008, Koen Adams defended his master thesis “Safety and Throughput during incidents”.

Defense Rúna Ásmundsdóttir

Rúna defended her master thesis on dynamic OD matrix estimation using a-priori information from floating car data on March 20th, 2008.
